TOURIST INFORMATION OF TRUJILLO
Location : The City of Trujillo is situated on the north coast of the Peruvian seaboard, 554 Km. To the north of Lima. It is the political capital from La Libertad region.
Population : 639 554 habitants.
Climate : Semitropical, with a temperature that varies according to the season. Trujillo is a friendly and colonial City, which is at the same time one of the main economic and cultural centers of northern Peru. What is more, it is the capital of THE MARINERA dance and Peruvian El Paso horse breeding. Trujillo was founded in 1534 as one of the main cities in the vice-regency. The old quarter features many fine colonial buildings such as the Cathedral, the El Carmen monastery, churches and mansions that symbolize the beauty and architectural harmony of the City.

THE CITADEL OF CHAN CHAN : This is the biggest city of mud of America prehispanic. It was declared Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO in 1986. Chan Chan would have been the capital of Chimu kingdom, it extended originally more than 20 km2 from Huanchaco surroundings to Campana Hill. Archaeologists think that houses more than one hundred thousand people. There are several constructions that stand out such as squares, dwellings, warehouses, workshops, streets, walls, and pyramid temples.
HUACA DEL SOL & HUACA DE LA LUNA : Huaca del Sol was an important political-administrative center, and Huaca de la Luna as a ceremonial center. Among those is placed the urban area formed by houses, big avenues, alleys, passages, and squares. These buildings confirm a high political, religious, economical, and social organization of Moche.
